Those who say there’s nothing new under The Sun haven’t read Walton County’s weekly newspaper.
The Walton Sun is changing and is now offering dedicated home delivery to our subscribers for $29 for a full year or $15 for six months.
“The Sun was started from scratch 15 years ago, and from its very first edition, it's always been a first-rate newspaper. It is filled with intensely local news and information, and it is well-regarded in Walton County,” said Michelle C. MacLeod, regional sales and marketing manager for audience acquisition. “Our co-workers who sell and create the ads, who write and edit it, who print it and distribute it — they do good, valuable work. Getting The Sun for free has been a steal; paying 50 cents will be a great bargain.”
The transformation from a free paper to a paid product occured in phases and is now almost complete.
“The Walton Sun is filled with valuable news and local advertising. We frequently hear people remark that they can’t believe such a good newspaper is free,” said MacLeod. “We believe it is time that we place a value on a newspaper that serves an important need and has built such a solid reputation with readers and advertisers.”
