New club director

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast has announced the new DeFuniak Springs Club Director, Daryl Betts.  Betts has lived in DeFuniak Springs for 30 years, originally from the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. He moved to the area because he felt that DeFuniak Springs was a great place to raise his children, who have all attended elementary, middle and high school in DeFuniak.

Daryl’s primary goal for the DeFuniak Springs Boys & Girls Club, 435 N 9th St., is to ensure they provide a safe environment for kids to learn and have fun.  It’s his hope that they can continue to grow and impact more youth in the community through their afterschool and summer programs.

“We’re currently providing impactful, outcome driven programming such as Power Hour, Triple Play, Healthy Habits, Character Counts, Art, and Music,” Betts said. “With the support of the community, we plan to continue these wonderful programs and grow even more.”
