Laurie Anne Giroir Graves
Laurie Anne Giroir Graves passed away March 3, 2013, while surrounded by family and friends at her home, after a brief but courageous battle with illness.
She was born Aug. 3, 1957, along with her twin sister in London, Ontario, to her parents, Phillip Louis Giroir, III and Marilynn D’Aquin Giroir, who were residents of Kenner, La.
Laurie lived in Metairie, La., before moving with her husband and children to St. Louis, Mo., Boca Raton, Fla., Atlanta, Ga., and Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
Laurie enjoyed working in management and as a personal assistant with customers in her position with Bare Essentials Cosmetics. Her many talents included stain glass, quilting, embroidery, knitting, cake decorating as well as her passion for cooking and shopping.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Jerry M. Graves; children, Justin Wade and Pamela Fletcher of Roswell Ga., Ronald Joseph of Atlanta, Ga., Angela Dean of Roswell, and Sanford Cox and Jennifer Alexander of Conway, S.C.; grandchildren, Sanford Cox II, Ashleigh Brianna, Glenn Alexander, Jillian Elise, her twin sister, Linda Giroir Berryman and her husband, Thomas of Santa Rosa Beach; brother, Phillip L. Giroir, IV and his wife, Jeanmarie of New Orleans, La.; niece, Brittany; nephews, Jeremy and Brandon; as well as many cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon March 9 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 259 Miramar Beach Drive in Miramar Beach, with Father Tom Guido as celebrant. A committal service will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 Beal Pkwy NW in Fort Walton Beach.
Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 419A NW Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547, in memory of Laurie.
