With all the turmoil in Walton County government, it’s time to clean it up!
We’ve had five county commissioners in five years, public works director gone, planning director applying for a new job after just over a year, TDC director resigning and allowed to stay on as if she hadn’t caused massive damage within the community. We’ve had ethics probes, an FBI investigation, conflicts of interest to beat the band and that’s just in the past couple years.
When will our statewide reputation of corruption, be sufficient to make our “leaders” say enough is enough? Right here, right now it stops!
Cronyism, intimidation and back room dealings have got to make way for real leadership, honesty and fairness. If only the purity and splendor of Walton County’s natural beauty, could give those who govern the courage to take a leap of faith, and let the sins of the past, stay in the past, Walton County could become a role model for the entire state.
So which way will Walton County choose? Will we go forward to be a role model or continue to be the laughing stock of the state? Remember, “it’s always the right time to do the right thing” — MLK, Jr.
