What better way to kick off a weekend than with a great dinner. I enjoyed a great sampling of dinner and appetizer offerings last Friday night at the new Grayton Bar & Grill with Steve and Melanie Cissone. Loved it! Good to see Johnny Earles back in the kitchen doing what he does best.

Friday morning, I saw Didon Comer and Hank White at the Hidden Lantern at Rosemary Beach. Hank is mentioned in Ginger Sinton's new book about the rare coastal dune lakes. Hank has a home on one of those.

The 30A Posse enjoyed howling at the new full moon Friday night at Grayton Beach.

Saturday evening was a stellar evening on the deck at The Vue. The weather was perfect, the sunset was perfect, the music by Geoff McBride was perfect, as was the company. Keith and RoseAnn Knight, Greig and Sandy Buckley, Greg and Beverly Schmitt, Boni Rekas, Betty Krika, and Joey McKenna all joined us for a bit. It was great fun and Geoff put on a good show. I saw Jens and Margie Bach and Karen Kolenberg there also.

Mark Thompson and Judi Good paired up to throw themselves a fine all-day birthday party with a crawfish boil at Grayton Beach on Sunday. It was the fourth-annual for Mark. Pauline Sutcliffe and Rio attended.

I took in The Great Gatsby in 3D Sunday afternoon with RoseAnn Knight and Joey McKenna. Good movie.

Veterans held their annual Memorial Day service Monday morning at Gulf Cemetery. Mike and Carol Stovsky, Lance Greenwald, Bill and Cheryl Freeze, Doug and Jane Anderson attended.

It's confirmed that Katie Holmes and her family enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend in Rosemary Beach. Saturday night, she and a friend enjoyed a bottle of wine at Restaurant Paradis' bar. Sunday, Al Cook saw her on the beach. She also reportedly ate at the Summer Kitchen, and shopped in Seaside.

Hunter and Jami Ray went tarpon fishing in Boca Grande last weekend.

Dana and Tom Saffel are back from their British holiday.

Chan and Laura Cox are off on an Italian adventure.

Sad to lose Joe and Carolyn Ausley to D.C. Best wishes!

Chick Huettel was presented with the Distinguished Service of Honor certificate by Sheriff Mike Adkinson at a recent sheriff posse dinner hosted by David Seering at Tuscany restaurant.

Chick and Cathy then traveled to Huntsville last weekend for a grandson's high school graduation.

Jane and Doug Anderson threw their granddaughter, Jacey Geater, a graduation party at their Gulf Place home last Saturday night. She will attend Jacksonville State University in the fall.

Geoff McBride has a new baby girl, Zuri Rae Josephine McBride, born May 21.
