After attending Digital Graffiti for the first time last year, local filmmaker Shane Sauer and local artist, Justin Lyons, decided to join forces and collaborate on their own digitized work of art for the 2013 Digital Graffiti.
Their piece titled "Permanent Impression" had a premiere spot in the unique art festival. The interactive piece jumped between the two butterys at the Alys Beach entrance.
More than 200 submissions were sent to the Digital Graffiti panel of judges. Having been chosen as one of the 23 submissions that made the cut was already a happy surprise to Sauer and Lyons.
"Just to be a part of the festival is super cool," Lyons told The Sun.
Not only did the artists make the cut to be showcased in the festival, but they were also recognized by the judges, winning Best of Florida.
"Overall, it was a great learning experience and I enjoyed watching people react to it being projected on the architecture," Sauer said.
