Summer day camps



Diggin’ in the Dirt Gardening Camp for ages 8 and up, sponsored by 4-H, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 15-18 at the Walton County Extension Office in DeFuniak Springs. Call 892-8172.



Learn about herbs, fruits, vegetables, flowers, which plants attract butterflies, and more. Cost is $30. Snacks provided; bring a sack lunch.



Day Camps



Travel into history and search for hidden treasure from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15-19 at Helen McCall Park in Santa Rosa Beach. Each team will compete for the top title of Gold Miner during scavenger hunts, games, and sports all.

Kids' Rock the Block



Bring the family for a free night of fun at the Kids’ Rock the Block party from 6-8 p.m. July 16 and Aug. 31 on the Western Green in Rosemary Beach. Moonwalks, face painting, airbrush tattoos, arts and crafts, hula hoops, bubble machine and more top the list of fun.



Volleyball/softball camp



Walton High School athletics volleyball and softball camps will be held July 16-18 for ages 8-13. Softball is 8:30-10 a.m. and volleyball is 10:30 a.m. to noon. Cost is $30 per camp.

Summer Art Camps



E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center and Abrakadoodle present Garden Camp 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17 at the center, 4956 State Hwy. 20 E in Freeport for children ages 5-12. Cost is $35/child. Camp Rosemary



Bring the kids for art projects including tie dye tees, sand art, and glitter tattoos from 12-4 p.m. Monday through Friday in July in Rosemary Beach. Cost is $5-$20 per craft. Not a drop of program.



A sports and talent workshop includes soccer and baseball to juggling and magic for ages 8-17 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in July.



Surf school



Ride On Surf School, on the beach behind Captain Dave's restaurant on Scenic Hwy. 98 in Miramar Beach, will host the following events. Call 240-7822 or visit www.rideonsurf.com.



• Billabong Surf Camp: Three-hour surf instruction from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $80 and includes T-shirt, goody bag. Additional days,$50.



• Group Surf Lessons: One hour instruction and one hour free surf time for 2 or more people. Cost is $55/person.



• Ride On Surf Camp: For those wanting multiple visits throughout the summer, two hour surf instruction daily (choose your times). Cost is $40/person for four or more lessons.



• Mini Surf Lesson: A half hour introductory surf instruction. Cost is $30/person.



Kids on Campus



Register for the “Kids on Campus” summer enrichment program at Northwest Florida College online at www.nwfsc.edu/kidsoncampus or parents may register at all seven NWFSC locations.



Kids on Campus offers youth entering grades 3 to 8 an opportunity for fun learning in a college environment with a variety of classes in the areas of athletics, theater, art and academics.



 Session will be held July 15-25, Monday through Thursday, with half-day sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 noon or 12:30 to 3:20 p.m., or full-day sessions, 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.  For an additional fee, extended day options are available from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

30A Dancewave



Barefoot Broadway Kids musical theater camps for ages 6-12 will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. daily through July 19 at 30A Dancewave in Seaside. For one week, work on the fundamentals of musical theater and the art of the production number and focus on stage direction, character development, improvisation, vocal technique, simple choreography and auditioning. Present a production number at end of week. Wear comfortable workout clothes; hair pulled back away from face. Light snack and water provided.



Dancewave Dance Team Camp will be held from 3-5 p.m. July 29-Aug. 2. Students ages 9-15 will audition for New York City Dance Alliance Competition Teams.

Camp Showtime



Children ages 8 and older are welcome at Camp Showtime, presented by the Seaside Repertory Theatre, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday through Aug. 9 at the Meeting Hall Theatre, 216 Quincy Circle in Seaside. Seaside Rep



Join the Seaside Rep as they present a one-of-a-kind storytelling experience for children of all ages at 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at Lyceum Archway in Seaside.



Take the kids to a magical children's theatre performance, “James and the Giant Peach,” at 6:30 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 19 in the Seaside Amphitheatre.



See the "Amazing Adventures of the Marvelous Monkey King” at 6:30 p.m. June 26 in N. Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach. The event is free.



An original storytelling experience for children of all ages, audiences may help create Adventures In Alys at 10 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays through Aug. 8 at Fonville Press in Alys Beach.



Once Upon a Thyme takes place at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays through Aug. 9 at South Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach.



Music classes

Singing for My Summer Chorus for children grades 2-8 will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursdays. Cost is $20/class.



Music Discovery Classes for ages 4-6 meet at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays through July 31 for  45 minutes.  Cost is $10/class.
