Churchill Oaks was a beautiful setting last Tuesday night for Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation's annual check presentation ceremony. The outdoor backdrop of the Choctawhatchee Bay made for some lovely photos. Greig and Sandy Buckley, Demetrius Fuller, Cory and Hillary Fosdyck, John and Michelle Russell, Tiffanie Shelton, Jeanne Dailey, Ken Hair, Tanner and Katie Peacock, Don and Betty Hefner, Debbi and John Morris, Vickie and Ray Dollar, Jane and Greg Bahr, Zach Billingsley, Lauren Magli, Jane Soloman, Steve and Lynn Dugas, Chan and Laura Cox, Roger Hall, Lisa and Gerald Burwell, Shaye Smith, Myra Williams, and Joan Carter were some who attended and enjoyed the heavy hors d'oeuvres by Chef Tim Creehan of Cuvee Catering and wine provided by DCWAF. I positioned myself in line behind John Morris and whatever he poured, I tried to get some of the same.
I enjoyed another great meal at Travinia's bar last Wednesday night, along with Peggy and Kent Lillie, Sue and Mark Devlin, Mitzi and Harry Millsaps and John Stasko. I ordered the Sinatra Chicken, which is topped with smoked pancetta mozzarella and a light semi-sweet Grand Marnier cream sauce, and my dining companion had the veal parmesan, both of which were very good. The bar serves great upper-end wines, and its house wine — Salmon Creek — is excellent! Great evening with friends! And we saw Beverly Schmitt outside.
I saw Ladie Bea and Wayne Carlisle at The Vue on Sunday. Good to see them as I had not seen them in a while. Joe and Kathy Perry, and Greg and Beverly Schmitt enjoyed the beach.
