Wine World Miramar kicked off its new redo and look with, what else, but a five-course wine dinner last Tuesday night featuring Banfi wines. Sharron McCarthy, former president of the Society of Wine Educators, led a wine seminar before the dinner. Stacey and Mike Brady, Susan and Phil Benton, Dawn Moliterno, Jim Bagby, Colleen Coffield, and Lori Karian are some who enjoyed the fabulous Chilean sea bass and ribs prepared by Chef Sandor. Sandor surprised Colleen by presenting her dessert with a candle on top as an early birthday gift. Wine dinners are such fun!



Locals turned out at Redd's Fueling Station last Thursday night and helped raise more than $2,200 and a pile of supplies for Alaqua Animal Refuge to help with their influx of animals. Francesca Gage, Chase Johnson, Cynthia Kennedy, Matthew Jones, and April Madr were some who attended. There were raffles and bidding on donated items, and Redd sang for donations. The Emerald Coast chapter of Alpha Phi Sorority Alumnae held its fourth annual chapter anniversary dinner at Santa Rosa Beach Club Aug. 15. Cecelia Finch, Jennifer Nabholtz, Terri Dalsky, Betty Leffue, Pam Tedesco, Jennifer Paul, Annette Linn, Gloria Hovorka and Anne Trudeau attended.



Tracy Louthain, Jami Ray, Dave Rauschkolb, Lesan Gouge, Rhonda Murray, and Lori Smith, attended the FPRA officer installation onboard The Solaris last Wednesday.



Mike and Angela Ragsdale, Justin Gaffrey and Bridgette Mitchell, Phil McDonald, Ashley and Shannon Johnson, and Jeff Armstrong enjoyed a trip to Black's Island last weekend.

John and Grace Morin just returned from 14 days of touring Venice, Florence and Rome, Italy. They said the food and wine were wonderful, along with the people.

Lisa Woodruff Hinds escaped the rain in Philadelphia.



George Hartley and Chip Herring hung with Emeril Lagasse at La Cocina and the V Seagrove last week. Crust Artisan Bakery owners Kim and Mark Fressell also hosted Emeril last Wednesday afternoon at their bakery. Emeril's show on The Cooking Channel featuring Crust should air in December. Emeril chose several places to film for “Emeril’s Florida," which will be in its second season. He and his staff visited two or three times at each restaurant before making their decision.

Shari Trejo has a new granddaughter. Her daughter Elena and husband Andrew welcomed Maria Wambui Maina into the world last week. She weighed nearly 8 pounds and Shari said she is as cute as can be.
