Tax-Aide counselors prepare Federal income tax returns for low to middle-income taxpayers with special attention to those ages 60 and older. For many, a tax refund could mean they wonít have to choose between paying for groceries and keeping the lights on. Work directly with taxpayers and receive the joy and satisfaction of helping others and meeting neighbors. Most of the returns are completed electronically (e-file) and all are free. Neither counselors nor clients need to be members of AARP.

As a counselor, receive training and be IRS certified in the basics of the US Individual Tax Code and in the use of the IRS provided tax preparation software.

A counselorís commitment will be for the training in January and preparing taxes at least one day a week during tax season, February through April 15.
