On Oct. 23, Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar officially opened its doors, highlighted by a ribbon cutting ceremony and samplings of the restaurant’s highly modern contemporary American Italian cuisine.
In addition, and as a thank you to the community, the new Travinia revealed a $5,000 donation to the non-profit children’s charity “Food For Thought.” The organization provides school backpacks filled with lunches, allowing children to focus on their daily studies, not if or when they will eat, or the amount of nourishment they will have during the day.
Located in Miramar Beach at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, Travinia’s newest restaurant welcomed hundreds of guests at a chamber of commerce ribbon cutting.
“Great food; must-see, sophisticated scene” and “modern and classic” were just some of the compliments given to Jason Justak, Travinia’s general manager.
When asked about the event, Justak said “We were thrilled with the turnout and genuine enthusiasm of the citizens of Destin, plus visitors from neighboring cities. While every Travinia Italian Kitchen typically adopts a children’s charity, the reception we received here made our $5,000 gift even more gratifying for us.”
Travinia, which has been serving guests since early July, offers award-winning selections for lunch and dinner. Fresh choices include homemade soups, salads, chicken, veal, seafood dishes and unique pastas with cream sauces and robust marinaras. The selection of more than 200 world-class wines is continuously updated to add exciting new choices from Napa Valley and Italy.
First established in August of 2002, Travinia offers a total of 11 locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. Two additional restaurants will open in Virginia in 2014.
