It's never too early to begin making your list and checking it twice in planning for this year's Christmas gifts or Hanukkah.
The Cultural Arts Alliance's A+ Art committee had that in mind when they scheduled their One Size Fits All art show for the fall at the South Walton campus of Northwest Florida State College.
The committee made 10-inch by 10-inch wood panels available to all artists for $5 a piece. Every artist was allowed to paint a scene of their choosing on each and submit two pieces for the show "One Size Fits All."
"The idea for doing this type of show came when we realized that we do exhibits all year and people come and look, but not many purchase. We wanted to do something to promote sales, help the artists, and art lovers to be able to purchase affordable pieces by area artists and get artwork by local artists into homes," said Joan Vienot, who serves on the committee.
More than 50 artists are represented in the show and 101 pieces of artwork were hung. Some have already sold and the artists were then allowed to replace what sold.
"This was not a juried show, so, everyone could exhibit," said Vienot. "As such, we ended up with a fantastic variety across all genres, even fabric art and relief sculpture. And since the artist is able to replace what sells, we are getting new and different pieces every week."
All pieces are the same size and all are the same price — $100. Purchase online or through the individual artists.
The exhibit will be up at the college through Dec. 6.
