SOUTH WALTON — A 7-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle Tuesday evening while riding on their bicycle along County Road 30A.
John G. Brittle, Jr., of Brentwood, Tenn., was driving westbound on CR-30A when he hit the young boy from Nashville, Tenn., who was rid-ing his Mongoose bicycle across the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The boy, whose name was not released, was not in the bicycle lane at the time of the crash and was hit with the left front of 48-year-old Brittle’s 2005 Chrysler Pacifica, according to the FHP release.
The 7-year-old was wearing a helmet. Officials do not believe the boy suffered any life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Walton County.
