If you couldn't find a Super Bowl party to attend last Sunday, you just weren't looking.



Tom and Michelle Fillingim hosted their eighth-annual Super Bowl party at their Gulf Place home Sunday afternoon. "Boring game, but great party," said Tom. Keith and RoseAnn Knight, Tom and Dana Saffel, Brad and Claudia Droy, Mike and Carol Stovsky, Sharon Thompson, Bill and Cheryl Freeze, Doug and Jane Anderson, Lorene Gruzdis, Betty Krika, Diane Smith and Steve Bacon, Joe and Kathy Perry, Karen and Jerry DesJardins, Lahrye and Nancy Radford, Charlie and Elizabeth Montgomery, Jon Spencer and Christine Agnew, Margie and Jens Bach, Greg and Beverly Schmitt were some of the around 50 neighbors who attended.



Richard and Demetria McNeese also hosted a Super Bowl party at their home. Allen and Hilary Butler attended.



Tony and Suzanne Lagratta also hosted one at their Seagrove home. Dottie and Paul Hidell, Sandy and Paul Luchtefeld, Gillian and Gerry Lee, Brenda and Jim Radtke, Beth and Bob Coppedge, Karen and Maunsel White attended that one.



While kudos go out to the Seahawks on their first Super Bowl win, some more local congratulations are also in order.



Ann Kief's son was the Director of Photography on Toyota commercials shown after the Super Bowl's main Toyota commercial. They can be seen on the Toyota channel of YouTube and Vine Videos. And some of his other work can be seen at CraigKief.com.

Congratulations to Connie Yarbro. A nursing book she edited on cancer symptom management garnered first place in the 2013 Book of the Year in the Palliative Care and Hospice category from the American Journal of Nursing.



Jeff Ellis completed the Tallahassee Half Marathon last weekend with a time of 1 hour 48 minutes (8:15 pace per mile). He finished 99th overall and sixth in his age group in the top 15 percent or higher of all the half-marathon competitors. He is looking forward to a full marathon in a few weeks in Fort Lauderdale.



Water-ski trick legend Cory Pickos, who resides in Santa Rosa Beach, his world-renowned ski school, Cory Pickos Water Ski and Wakeboard, and slalom world record holder and world overall champion Regina Jaquess got a shout out in waterskimag.com.



Emeril Lagasse judged the Tim Tebow/Joe Montana cookoff on Good Morning America last Friday. And did you catch Emeril on the Rachael Ray show this week? He shared some of his cold-weather favs, including his Bolognese sauce.



WaterColor Inn & Resort received a four-star rating from Forbes Travel Guide for the second consecutive year.



In travels, Janice and Carl Fedkenheur are headed to New Jersey for the arrival of their new pre-fabricated house for the Jersey shore. It has been more than a year since Sandy destroyed their community and left them homeless. Carl said he will be reading his Walton Sun online as usual like he used to do before moving down to Santa Rosa Beach. The Fedkenheurs will return in March.

Stephen Marlette and Harriet Crommelin visited St. Helena, Calif., and took in Hall Vineyards.

Seasiders/30Aers who have been seen in the massive snows in Aspen last month skiing with local ski instructor Karen Tucker included the Dowlers, Scruggs, Bawas, and Barnes.
