After a year and a half of intense rehabilitation following a freak diving accident, Miramar Beach resident and realtor Danny Margagliano is marking his return to the local real estate scene with a new logo and a new business partner. Margagliano’s mother Arlene Margagliano has joined his Destin Property Expert team by way of his longtime affiliation with Keller Williams Emerald Coast (Team Baranowski).
“The decision to partner with my mom late last year was a natural one,” said Danny Margagliano. “She brings extensive real estate investment experience to the table after having owned over 20 properties and currently owning and managing three investment properties. We both share a deep love for the Destin and South Walton area, and work really well together on a professional level. The fact that she has been such a huge support to me since my accident goes without saying.”
Before the April 14, 2012 accident that shattered his C5 vertebrae leaving him paralyzed, Margagliano was an active SWFD firefighter and paramedic, as well as an avid surfer and fisherman. After being hospitalized for three months and undergoing extensive physical therapy and training for an additional three months, he was able to gradually phase back into his real estate career while juggling the daily challenges of his road to recovery.
“Joining Dan in his real estate business has been an eye opener for me,” said Arlene Margagliano, who received her real estate license last summer. “As a mother, you always think your children are smart, but working this closely with Dan these past few months has shown me just how motivated and knowledgeable he truly is. Our partnership makes for a unique approach to working with clients in real estate because we collaborate on every aspect of the business. Basically, when a client works with us, they are getting two dedicated real estate agents for the price of one!”
A realtor for more than three years, Margagliano holds designations as both a Certified Distress Property Expert and Certified Investor Agent Specialist. While their focus continues to be beachfront and Gulf view investment properties, they are branching out to include the residential homes division of Destin, Miramar Beach and Santa Rosa Beach.
Brad & Jamie Williams of Santa Rosa Beach were happy to share their recent experience working with the Margagliano’s: “We recently had the pleasure of working with Danny & Arlene for the sale of our home, as well as the purchase of our new home. We can truly say that they both met and exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds. They were spot on with pricing our house to sell, and were extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. We are grateful for their sound advice during what could have been an extremely stressful endeavor.”
While Margagliano is focused on his business objectives for 2014, he continues to be deeply indebted to the countless number of generous people who’ve shown their support to him since the accident. Charitable efforts like Donations 4 Danny, the entire team behind his 6-month home renovation (making it wheelchair accessible), the annual 30A Thanksgiving 10K, and many more have enabled him and his family to persevere to the place he is today.
“I’m ecstatic to be returning to the workplace after such a profound life-changing accident,” adds Danny. “Our local community has pulled together so much to show their love and support to me and my family. After being on the receiving end for so long, it feels great to be working again and to be able to give back. I couldn’t be happier, or more grateful.”
