Gannon Muldowney



Gannon Muldowney, 34, a resident of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., died unexpectedly in his sleep in Birmingham, Ala., on Oct. 13, 2012.



Gannon was born at Yokota Air Base in Japan on June 14, Flag Day, the son of Air Force Lt. Col. Bill Muldowney and Marlene Muldowney. He grew up in Tampa, Fla., and Houston, Texas, where he attended the Academy of the Holy Name and later the John Cooper School in the Woodlands, Texas.



Gannon attended college at Arizona State University in Scottsdale, Ariz., and worked in the Scottsdale area for several years before moving to Santa Rosa Beach.



While in College, Gannon was a lifeguard at Myrtle Beach in the summer and always loved swimming, tennis and golf.



He is survived by his father, F. W. (Bill) Muldowney III of Santa Rosa Beach; his mother, Marlene Muldowney of Hilton Head, S.C.; brother, F. W. Muldowney IV; sister, Liz Muldowney; brother, Leland Muldowney, his nephew, Frankie Muldowney; and niece, Mia Muldowney.



Gannon moved to Santa Rosa Beach in June of 2008 to work in the vacation rental business with his father. He loved the game of golf and played with his father and friends at Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt and Fort Walton Beach golf courses. He always loved the beach, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico and playing some beach volleyball.
A celebration of Gannon's life will be held in front of the Whales Tail on old Hwy. 98 on the beach at noon Oct. 20, and continuing throughout the afternoon. Family and friends wishing to remember Gannon are welcome to attend.



Johnnie Spivey Jordan



Johnnie Spivey Jordan, 88, passed away peacefully Oct. 17, 2012. She departed this life serenely surrounded by the arms and prayers of her family and loved ones.



Johnnie was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Freeport, Fla., to James Brady and Betty Gertrude Spivey, becoming the 14th child of an eventual 20. Brady was a circuit riding Methodist minister and Johnnie spent the early years of her life traveling with her family throughout Alabama and Northwest Florida.



On Aug. 12, 1944, she married Carlton Jordan of the United States Navy. Shortly after, they moved to Crestview, Fla., making a permanent residence on Old Bethel Road where they raised their three children, David, Larry, and Martha. She resided there until her death.



She is survived by her son, Larry Jordan and wife, Jeannie; daughter, Martee Jordan Miley; grandchildren, Carla Jordan Sodek, Stephen Jordan, Rachael Jordan Quinn, April Roper Krumnow, and Heath Roper; sisters, Pauline Spivey Jordan, Jean Spivey Philpott, Melba Spivey Kadenhead; brothers, Ben Spivey and John Wesley Spivey; and 11 great-grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton; son, David, and 14 siblings.



Family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at Joy Fellowship, 5978 Old Bethel Road in Crestview, with services following at 2 p.m.
Burial will be held directly after at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery, Crestview.
