St. Rita Catholic Church served up a lot more than five loaves and two fishes last Friday night as they served 579 dinners at their fish fry. Among those who served and/or enjoyed were Bob Saucier, Bob and Georgeia Johnson, Chick Huettel, John Stasko, Keith Knight, Ethel Stroul, Joe Colello, and Pat Lawrence.



Walton County Chamber members took Business After Hours to the streets last Thursday night for a Taste of Grand Boulevard. Cynthia Kennedy, Jared Morton, Stacey Brady, Mario Mardones, Jim Bagby, Ken Hair, Wendy Radke, Myra Williams, Kelly Klein, Bob Walz, Len and Jane Gibson were some who enjoyed. P.F. Chang's lettuce wraps were yummy.



The upcoming Wine Women and Shoes event held a volunteer social at Restaurant Fire last Wednesday night. Demetria and Richard McNeese, Jennifer Howard, Elaine Tucker, Jan Serafin, Peggy Brown, Teri McCall, Christine Thompson, Demetrius Fuller and Michael Thompson, and Lorre James were some who signed up. The mini strawberry shortcakes were delightful.



Gulf Place Homeowners association hosted its monthly "meet and greet" Jan. 7 at Restaurant Fire. Claudia Droy, Mike and Carol Stovsky, Keith and Rose Ann Knight, Lorene Gruzdis, Joe, Kathy and Erin Perry, Sharon Thompson, Ed and Donna McDonald, Carla Ravarino, Michelle Fillingim, Jimbo Holloway, Dana Saffel, and Don and Sharon Lock mingled.



I hear The Vue was packed for Geoff McBride's performance there last Thursday. Hank White, Tom Saffel, Ed and Donna Macdonald, Debbie and Meg Weant enjoyed.



Jon and Teri Vice said they enjoyed being at the National Championship game in Miami, and the outcome, of course.



Laura and Michael Granberry hosted a champagne toast to their new shop The Art of Simple Tuesday night. Lots of locals turned out to support them including Holly Speight, Lori Smith, Jackie Ward, Terry and Diane Olive, Heavenly and Bill Dawson,



Later that evening some took in dinner at Café Thirty-A, including Heavenly and Bill Dawson, Dave Rauschkolb, Betsy and Bill Evett, Hank White and Didon Comer, and Mary and Joe Proctor, who celebrated Mary's birthday there.



Proud parents Gena and Ronnie Bolton just returned from their son EM3 David Bolton’s graduation from the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Power School in Goose Creek, S.C. David will be assigned to one of the program's prototype propulsion plants in New York or South Carolina for 24 weeks of additional training.



Linda Quinlan is visiting her kids and grandkids in Vegas.



Tom Fillingim has returned from visiting family in New England.



Demetrius Fuller and Michael Dobson took in "Wicked" in New York City.



Jim, Emily and Lucas Springer welcomed the latest addition to their family, daughter Maren James, on Dec. 27. Nancy Canning is the proud grandmother.
