The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will kick off the 2012 filing season with walk-in tax preparation available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 1 at JobsPlus in DeFuniak Springs. They will also start scheduling appointments for tax preparation with appointments beginning on Feb. 7.



The tax payer will need to bring the following items: all W-2s and 1099s, Social Security cards for all family members, copy of 2011 tax return, if available, bank account number and routing number (if choosing direct deposit or voided check), valid photo ID, child care expenses including providers address and Federal ID #, property tax bills, notices from state tax office, college tuition and student load interest statements, alimony paid or received, mortgage company statements and any other tax related documents.
