Walton County Board of County Commissioner's meetings now available on Web

Walton County residents can now view video highlights of the Board of County Commissioners meetings on the Web.

Ray Padgett, vice chair of the Walton County Democratic Party, is videotaping the meetings and editing them according to agenda topics. Previously, only audiotapes were available for the public.

"Until now, residents sat through long meetings and often left before they got to hear the discussion of items they were interested in," said Padgett. "Now they can sit at home on their computer and see the parts of the meeting that interest them at their convenience."

This media section is part of Walton County Democratic Party's new Web site which went online last week. It contains links to all voter information, to candidate information, events, Democratic Women's Club activities, and up-to-the minute local, state and national political information. 

No registration is required to access the site, and all county residents are welcome to visit the site and to comment on issues and articles. The site is www.waltondemocrats.org.
