Scavengers Bazaar is feeling no recession pinch

If embarking on a treasure hunt sounds like your type of thrilling adventure, Scavengers Bazaar at Emerald Coast Plaza can take you on a hunt for long lost treasures or new ones.
Joseph Cook and Michael Hayes opened Scavengers Bazaar Antiques & Interiors in Panama City Beach 11 years ago. Through the years they discovered that 70 percent of their clientele came from South Walton.
Last year, the couple decided to go to where their clientele is and eight months ago opened their second location.
Located in the west end of Emerald Coast Plaza, the 4,000 square feet of space quickly filled up.
On March 1, Cook and Hayes opened another 8,000 square feet in the space previously occupied by Goodwill Industries. Their vendors now number 38 in the two Santa Rosa Beach storefronts in a total space of more than 12,000-square-feet.
