Graceville keeps Rocky Bayou Christian winless this year

The Rocky Bayou Christian football team suffered another lopsided loss on Friday, but Knights coach John Reaves said his squad had nothing to hang its head about.

Graceville won its first District 1-B game with a 59-12 victory over visiting Rocky Bayou.

The Knights (0-8, 0-3) played competitive in the first half but ultimately fell behind 33-12 to Graceville (2-6, 1-2).

“I’m proud of them,” Reaves said of his unit. “The score is not indicative of the game we played. It’s the best game we’ve played by far.”

James Waldron had a big game for the Knights, racking up 151 yards rushing on 21 carries. He also threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Cain.

Chris Behnken scored Rocky Bayou’s other touchdown. He ran it in from 4 yards out.

Leading Rocky Bayou on defense was Shawn Josey, who had five solo tackles.
