Tallahassee FAMU rolls to victory over Rocky Bayou
The Rocky Bayou Christian football team suffered a 51-0 loss to Tallahassee FAMU in its home finale on Friday.
A major bright spot for the now 0-9 Knights, who also fell to 0-4 in District 1-B play, was do-everything back James Waldron. He had 29 carries for 121 yards and was 3-for-4 through the air with 58 yards passing.
"It was the James Waldron show, especially in the first half," Rocky Bayou coach John Reaves said.
After Reaves said the Knights "came out scared" on the first series, they settled in and played a relatively balanced first half. The Knights broke into the FAMU red zone five times led mostly by Waldron but couldn't put away any drives.
FAMU improved to 4-5 and 3-1 in district play. FAMU is heading to the playoffs after securing a runner-up finish in the district.
"They had a lot more depth than we did and that starts to play on the kids after a while," Reaves said.
