Lane Rees chairs national Foundation board

Lane Rees, board chair, welcomed members of The Foundation for Evangelism Board of Trustees to the mid-year meeting held May 8 - 10, in Madison and Princeton, N.J.
The Foundation for Evangelism, a United Methodist non-profit organization, provides grants to 13 seminaries throughout the world including The Theological School at Drew University and Princeton Theological Seminary for the development and training of leaders in The United Methodist Church.
Rees met with Dr. Leonard Sweet, evangelism professor and well-known Christian author, and with the Princeton Timothy Scholars, a group of doctoral students in the area of ministry with young people.
The Foundation’s 32 trustees include United Methodist leaders from throughout the United States who oversee the annual distribution of grants in excess of $2.8 million awarded to partners in the United States, Africa, Germany and Russia.
The Foundation is an affiliate of the General Board of Discipleship of The United Methodist Church. Founded in 1949 by the late Dr. Harry Denman, the Foundation provides venture capital to develop leaders with a passion for evangelism.
