Men booked on meth charges in DeFuniak Springs

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS -- An undercover investigation by the Walton County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit resulted in two arrests around 5 p.m., Tuesday, when an investigator made a traffic stops on Quail Ridge Road.

Inside the vehicle driven by 28-year-old Joseph Evans Seigler, authorities found a sunglass case with a homemade pipe and several small containers of methamphetamine residue and other items that are essential in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

A passenger in the vehicle, 32-year-old Keith Richard Lawniczak, of DeFuniak Springs, was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The items were found under the seat Lawniczak was sitting in.

Investigators then searched Seigler's residence and found a methamphetamine lab, along with evidence that a lab had been operable in the recent days. In addition, they found a short-barreled shotgun in a shed behind the home.

Both men have been booked into the Walton County Jail. Seigler faces two-counts of possession of listed chemicals for the manufacture of a controlled substance, one-count of possession of narcotic equipment, one-count of the production of methamphetamine, along with one-count of possession of a short barreled shotgun. Seigler's bond has been set at $15,500.

Lawniczak faces one-count of possession of a controlled substance, and one-count of possession of narcotic equipment. His bond is set at $5,500.
