Walton County Tax Collector to issue driver licenses in Defuniak Springs
The Walton County Tax Collector’s DeFuniak Springs Office will be the sole issuer of driver license services in Walton County beginning March 19. The new services offered are a result of the State closing the DeFuniak Springs Driver License Office.
“Tax Collectors were selected as the office to transition driver license services to since we are already providing Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle services,” said Tax Collector Rhonda Skipper. “Our employees are excited about providing these new services in a manner that is efficient and convenient for our customers.”
The services will be expanded within six months to the Santa Rosa Beach office once renovations are complete to allow for more space to accommodate the anticipated lobby traffic.
The office will also offer appointments for all driver license transactions. Appointments will be available beginning March 19 and can be made online at waltontaxcollector.com or by calling the office.
Individuals planning to renew their driver license or making application for a driver license or identification card are strongly encouraged to visit gathergoget.com to learn about the documents needed for renewal or issuance.
Driver license services will be provided Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are encouraged. The Tax Collector’s Office welcomes opportunities to speak to community groups and educate them on the new driver license and identification card requirements.
