Photographer uses design skills to develop business
Getting laid off can be a difficult time, but for Kim Kinsey the change in job status offered her the opportunity to create her own business, Dragonfly Photography, Layout & Design.
Although she originally used film when she started taking photos more than 18 years ago, Kinsey is now marketing her skills as a digital photographer, layout and page designer.
Kinsey attended Auburn University and spent eight years in Birmingham, Ala. in the digital design and output industry and in management before returning to the coast last year.
Dragonfly PLD provides digital photography for work or play including weddings, reunions, conventions and portraits. Commercial imaging for marketing layouts, presentations and Web sites and fine art productions are also available.
Dragonfly specializes in candid, on location photography.
“I will come to you,” she said.
“I do a little bit of everything,” Kinsey said. “I love shooting spur of the moment things.”
She encourages families to hire professional help for special events.
“I can provide professional quality photos, and through post editing, create a digital scrapbook on a CD,” she said.
Kinsey grew up in Gulf Breeze, Fla., and lives in Freeport. She knows the area, and while she offers beach photography, she also has other locations to help provide a unique photo opportunity for portrait work.
She is available seven days a week, by appointment only.
Her photo gallery can be viewed at www.dragonflypld.com or call her at (850) 333-1228.
Grand Boulevard adds lively dining experience
There’s ample opportunity at Grand Boulevard to enjoy fine dining, but the latest eatery will shake things up. Johnny Rockets, known for its shakes, malts, burgers and fries, also features singing and dancing servers.
Johnny Rockets, located in the northeast corner of The Orvis building, will open this spring, said Howard Group public relations manager Angela Triplett.
