Lou Taylor

Lou Taylor, 85, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away July 16, 2010, at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Blountstown, Fla., to the late Emmet and Cindy Grace Carter. Lou was Baptist by faith and a member of East Baptist Church.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister. Lou is survived by three daughters, Linda Anderson and husband, Freeman, of Ponce de Leon, Fla., Mary Griner and husband, Ralph, of DeFuniak Springs, and Patricia Lowery of Pensacola, Fla.; twin sons, Ron and Don Taylor of DeFuniak Springs; one brother, Eugene Carter and wife, Maggie, of Blountstown; 15 grandchildren, Matt Anderson of Panama City, Majesty Coates and husband, Kendall, of Tallahassee, Debbie Cornman and husband, Mike, of Jacksonville, Fla., D’aun Carter and husband, Jimmy, of DeFuniak Springs, Dawn Griner of Santa Rosa Beach, Tammy Carroll and husband, Al, of Eufaula, Ala., Tim Johnson and wife, Trudy, of Pensacola, John Lowery and wife, Kimberly, of Pensacola, Crystal Kroll and husband, Chris, of Hartford, Ala., Donny Taylor Jr. of Rincon, Ga., Michele Taylor of Pensacola, Lynette Bonner of Rincon, and Barbie, Tiffany and Nicole Lowery, all of Pensacola; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. July 18 at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 1474 Hwy. 83 North in DeFuniak Springs, with the Rev. Dean Whitaker officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour before the service. Committal services will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.

The family would like to extend its appreciation to Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Covenant Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother.
