Heidi wants a home for Christmas
Christmas wishes and desires are being shared near and far at this festive holiday season. The list usually includes jewelry, clothing, gift cards and all sorts of dazzling items offered in stores and catalogs around the world.
However, one Santa Rosa Beach resident has an unusual request at the top of her list. All Vickie Gatliff wants for Christmas this year is a home for Heidi.
Heidi is 5-year-old mixed breed dog that Gatliff's pet rescue organization has cared for since April 24, when Heidi was dropped off with her litter of pups. The pups were adopted within a week, but Heidi is still homeless.
"She is a great dog, very sweet," said Gatliff, "she just needs for someone to make her part of a family. It breaks my heart that no one has taken her."
Heidi resembles a small Australian cattle dog somewhat in looks, but she doesn't act like a cattle dog, said Gatliff.
"She is great with kids and she is house trained," she said.
Gatliff is not able to keep Heidi as she already has five dogs and her mother has come to live with her and needs attention.
"I've been a bit overwhelmed," said Gatliff. "But if I can find a home for Heidi for Christmas, I'll be happy."
If you would like to make Heidi part of your family this Christmas, call (850) 622-5828 or e-mail adoptadognwfl@hotmail.com, and make a sweet dog happy.
