Destin man injured in home invasion

DESTIN -- A suspect injured in a home invasion robbery attempt is undergoing treatment for a severe laceration to his arm at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Deputies say two men entered a motor home next to a house at 206 Sibert Avenue in Destin around 5:42 Monday morning. It's believed they were trying to steal medications.

A woman and her boyfriend were inside the motor home. The boyfriend picked up a knife and injured at least one of the suspects. Deputies are still searching for the second man. More details will be released at a later time.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.
