Sotheby's rained out April auction rescheduled for May 3
Sea Sotheby's International Realty will now hold its first real estate auction on May 3.
The event was originally scheduled for April 5, but was postponed due to torrential rain and lightning.
"People were arriving and registering, the band was playing- everything was just right until it started to rain so hard that they closed the entire park. The Park Ranger politely came up and asked what would be the best way to get all of these folks out of the tent immediately - that it was unsafe," said Chuck Cary, Owner of Sea Sotheby's International Realty. "The earliest we could reschedule was in May."
A portfolio of properties comprised of roughly 40 homes have been selected for the event now being held at The Palms Resort in Destin; a number that represents about 10 percent of the hopeful prospects.
"It's a tough selection process. We continue to look for homes owned by people with a true understanding of fair market value. Our priority is to sell their home, with this auction being their accelerated marketing plan," said Cary.
Some homes will have a reserve, while other homes will sell "absolute," meaning no reserve. Properties being auctioned will be from some of the areas finest communities.
Buyers interested in coming to the auction are being registered now, and will have the opportunity to virtually tour homes, or make a convenient appointment to walk through them.
