Category Fun: Hurricane party brings in $30,000 for CVHN (PHOTOS)
Tropical storm or no tropical storm, there was no stopping the Fifth Annual Hurricane Party, a fundraising event supporting the Children’s Volunteer Health Network, a local faith based organization that provides free dental, medical and mental health care to uninsured and underinsured children in Okaloosa and Walton counties.
Held at the bay front venue, Bentley’s on the Bay, the evening resonated with a Havana Cuban theme including Latin music, dancers, food, and decor. The Latin melody of Brooklyn based band Ole Fresca, filled the air as guests mingled through a myriad of silent and live auction items, blackjack tables, and Spanish cuisine.
The event raised over $30,000.
“The money raised will help to continue to fund our ongoing programs like the Just For Grins Mobile Dental Clinic and oral healthcare program in the schools,” said Tricia Carlisle-Northcutt, who founded the organization in 2005.
“Additionally, we hope to spring board other programs that will enhance the services we offer now. We are in the beginning of our fifth year of service and the need is not abating,” she added.
