KKK carved into door of DeFuniak home

Walton County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for clues as to who may have carved a racial epithet on the front door of a DeFuniak Springs area home. A Passion Flower Street resident and her son returned home at around 12:45 Saturday morning after going to the movies in Destin.

The homeowner called the Walton County Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had carved “KKK” in the front door of their house. The victim reported that she had left the home around 3 p.m. Friday, and that the incident occurred sometime over the nearly 10-hour period.

At this time, authorities are looking for clues as to who may have committed the criminal mischief which could be classified as a "hate crime." If you may have information on this case, contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at 892-8111, or the Crimestoppers of Walton County line at 1-866-718-TIPS (8477).
