Sophomore Brendan Leach threw a five-inning no-hitter for Walton (1-2), striking out 13 and walking three as the Braves cruised to a 15-0 win over Rocky Bayou Christian. The game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule. Leach relied primarily on an effective fastball to keep the Knights off balance.
“He’s a sophomore with a good arm,” said Walton coach Rick Dixon. “He has a good breaking ball but he was living on his fastball tonight.”
Offensively, the Braves were led by Angus Anderson, who went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs and James Towery, who went 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Walton will play at Arnold on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
