Lots of locals are traveling this season

I dined at the new Lin's Oriental restaurant in the Winn Dixie plaza last weekend and it was superb. Both the presentation and meal was impressive. I highly recommend the sesame chicken.

I saw Judy and Gerry Christman, Carole Bergstrom, Carolyn and Joe Ausley, Denise Dobelek, Bob and Marilynn Clarke, Jens Bach, and Lois and Bill Berberich last Thursday night and Gail and Jim Murray on Sunday.

I hear that Ed Walborsky has been out of the country.

Al Alvarado is back from Jamaica.

Marc and Doris Cramer left for France on Thursday. They took her mom with them. She was a WAVE in the NAVY and they are going to the 65th anniversary of D-Day. They will be back in time for her mom's birthday on July 1 when she will be 73 years young.

Betty Cork's son, John, and his family were in the Bahamas last week. While there, they attended a dinner party where Sean Connery was the guest of honor. Her grandson, Jimmy, age 9, was delighted.

Scott Provow launched son Matt on a flight to Annapolis where he will attend Summer Seminar at the U. S. Naval Academy.

Mary Elsberry has been traveling, visiting Tampa, Key West then Minnesota. She returned in time to call together all May birthday celebrants at the Old Florida Fish House last Saturday to dance, have a cocktail, sushi and dance.

Donna Vann has returned from a quick trip to Nashville and Illinois/Iowa quad cities for a graduation and party. She spent her birthday with her daughter and helped her sister drive up north from Nashville.

Lane Rees traveled to Alabama for networking for the HR business this week.

Donnelle made a trip to Birmingham for her granddaughter Emma's dance recital.

Sherry Carter has had out-of-town company.

Jeffrey Ellis loved kicking some younger guys (19-25 year olds) in the North Florida Olympic Triathlon last weekend. He placed fifth in his age group. He has a Bicycle Century and the Billy Bowlegs Night Run today.

Sandcastle builder Mark Flynn says the summer tourist time is here and he is busy giving lessons on sand castle building, demos, and building them for folks.

Valerie Lofton and son Tobias found South Walton's second sea turtle nest of the season last week.

Gulf Place is still in need of singers and sponsors for the first annual Beach Idol Talent Contest.

Fabrice has reopened at its original spot on U.S. Highway 98E in Santa Rosa Beach, Monday - Friday. The seared tuna burger is divine.
