Malone ends Laurel Hill's season
Laurel Hill's postseason run came to an end Wednesday in its Class A regional quarterfinal at Malone as the Hoboes fell 4-3 to end the season at 7-12.
The Hoboes built a 2-0 lead entering the third and added a run in the top half of the fifth to go ahead 3-0 before costly errors led to a four-run bottom of the fifth for Malone.
Ethan Jackson allowed just four hits in the loss while also collecting a pair of hits and an RBI at the plate. Dalton Gordon went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Malone (16-4) will host Paxton at 7 p.m. Friday in the regional semifinals.
