Last Snowbird gatherings for the year are this week

Well friends, it's almost time to fly back north. Many of our Snowbirds will be leaving their home-away-from-homes in just a few weeks and will be replaced by the Spring-breakers. We, who remain, will miss you. Our hope is that you have enjoyed all the activities arranged for your time here and made many new friends. That is the purpose for our Club.

The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, March 4. Please note that there will be only one meeting and that the time will be 10 a.m. Our entertainment will be the Emerald Coast Chorus and at this meeting the nominations for next winter's Board of Directors will be presented for your approval. There will be drawings for door prizes at the end of the meeting.

The Friendship Club will be having their luncheon get-together at the Black Pearl at noon on Tuesday, March 4.

The last casino bus trip to Biloxi will be on Friday, March 7. Reserve your place with Fran Yee at the meeting or call her at 837-7093, Ext. 1014.

Tickets for the storage lockers are on sale at the meeting at $7 per box. The lockers will be open from 8 - 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays until March 29. If you have any questions, please call Jim Galea at 651-2077.

Those who attended the Farewell Dinner Dance at Hurlburt Soundside on last Saturday enjoyed a great dinner, dancing and good company.

My Snowbird article next week will be my last. After five years, I am retiring as publicity director for the Destin Snowbird Club. I appreciate all of the kind comments extended by the readers and thank you all. Goodbye and "God Bless" to all.
