Obituaries 11-9

 Mark Loomis

Mark Alan Loomis, 51, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., was born March 1, 1958 in Oneida, New York.  He passed away unexpectedly at home Nov. 6, 2009.

Mark was the son of Dr and Mrs. Wendell King Loomis also of Santa Rosa Beach.

Mark was a graduate of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Md., and he then worked as a veterinary assistant for his father for a number of years.  Mark then went on to attend Culinary School in Baltimore and worked for many years in Maryland and in South Walton County as a pastry chef.

Mark is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Wendell King Loomis of Santa Rosa Beach and by his sisters Sharon Loomis of Seattle, Wash., and Linda Shovea, Sandy Johnson and Debbie Loomis- Earles all of Santa Rosa Beach.

He is also survived by his brothers, Craig Loomis of Los Angeles and Douglas Loomis of Conroe, Texas. He is from a large extended family with many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews as well as cousins who are too numerous to fit on this page. We all miss him very much.

He will be remembered by us all for his love of wildlife, with a special love for wolves and for his love of native American art.  He will also be remembered for the great hugs we received from him as well as for his dry sense of humor.

For those who wish to express their condolences, there will be a memorial service at Christ the King Episcopal Church on C.R. 393 North in Santa Rosa Beach at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11. A reception will follow at the church.

You may go online to view obituaries, offer condolences and sign guest book at www.clary-glenn.com

Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
