Two fugitives arrested

The DeFuniak Springs Police along with the U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force are pleased to announce the arrest of two wanted Fugitives.

On Dec. 3, 2009, Fugitive Task Force Members from the DeFuniak Springs Police along with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Shandonna Monique Goldsmith as part of an on-going North West Florida Fugitive Task Force Investigation.

Shandonna Monique Goldsmith was arrested on a Felony Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon Warrant and subsequent to the arrest was additionally charged with Felony Resisting Law Enforcement with Violence.

After the Task Force located and arrested Shandonna Monique Goldsmith, information obtained led the Task Force to a second Fugitive, Willie David Goldsmith aka. “Duke”, who was located and arrested on Dec. 7, 2009, in Jacksonville, Fla., by additional Task Force Team Members operating in that area.

Willie David Goldsmith was charged with Felony Violation of Probation (he was out on an early prison release, originally sentenced for Aggravated Battery in 2008), Grand Theft Auto, Felony Fleeing and Eluding and Resisting Law Enforcement. Willie David Goldsmith is being held in the Duval County Jail, prior to his transfer to Walton County.

Thanks to the U.S. Marshal’s Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, two violent criminals have been taken off the street. Both DeFuniak Springs Police and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office have members who serve on the Task Force, along with other local law enforcement agencies in the Panhandle.
