Boy in critical condition after ATV wreck (ACCIDENT REPORT)
DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — A 7-year-old boy involved in an ATV accident over the weekend remains in critical condition at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Christopher Major of DeFuniak Springs was a passenger on an ATV driven by 8-year-old Cody Hudson, also of DeFuniak Springs.
According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Cody was driving down Lucas Road in an ATV with Christopher 10:30 a.m. Sunday when they veered off the road.
After going into the right shoulder, the ATV struck a power pole on the right side and ejected both boys. Neither boy was wearing a seat belt, the release said.

The two boys were flown by medical helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in serious condition.
Cody was listed in fair condition Wednesday morning.
The 2008 ATV sustained about $1,000 in damages, the release said.
No charges will be filed.
According to Lt. Steve Preston with FHP said driving an ATV on a public right-of-way is illegal on most roadways. No charges were filed, but the accident is being reviewed by FHP.
"The operator was eight years old," Preston said. "So right now were reviewing statue. We don't have enough information about this to press any charges right now."
