South Walton freshmen meet Sunshine State Scholar criteria
Fifteen South Walton High School Freshmen have been recognized as 2008 Sunshine State Scholars.
To be eligible, these students had to score at Level 5 on the mathematics portion of the FCAT and at Level 4 or 5 on the science portion.
Walton County Superintendent of Schools Carlene Anderson congratulated these Freshmen Seahawks and said, "We as a district are always proud to see our students excel, but to be recognized at the state level is even more impressive."
South Walton High School Principal Mark Ewing presented each student with a certificate from the Florida Sunshine State Scholars Program and a congratulatory letter from Superintendent Anderson.
Seahawks receiving the award were Hillary Vest, Forrest Talburt, Chris Sanders, Samuel Hightower, Morgan Goodwin, Christopher Bruce, Emma Wiedel, Robert Meyers, Caitlin Carpenter, Jansen Infinger, Jessica Gammon, Alex Lovell and Lucy Livingston. Not pictured are Heather Wainright, Wilton Dargavell and Michael Lewis.
