Here’s a list of activities for children during the summer.
Kids Art Workshops
Artist Wendy Prentice will host workshops for children between 10 a.m. and noon Tuesdays in July at the Donna Burgess Gallery, 585 Grand Blvd, Sandestin Town Center. Every week is a different project. Call 974-1452 for more information.
Coastal Branch Library
Story Time will be presented at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays through July 27. Elementary age children are encouraged to attend, meet Miss Dolly, interact with stories and participate in crafts.
A Storytelling Workshop will be held at 10 a.m. Mondays July 11, 18 and 25. The workshop is for elementary age children in grades 3 and up. Storyteller Susie Arnold will present the art of storytelling with puppets and props inviting young people to “tell” stories.

Boys & Girls Club of DeFuniak Springs – Teen Center
The summer program through Aug. 4 features leadership development, education and career development, sports, fitness and recreation. A light breakfast and cold lunch, late night events and field trips are held throughout the summer.
Twenty youth are in need of summer program sponsorship. Sponsorship amounts are $125/ages 13 and over and $250/ages 11 and 12. When you contribute to this program, you help local children be part of an environment that is safe from drugs, alcohol, and violence.
Snack donations including granola bars, ramen noodles, fruit cups, Jell-O cups, Pop Tarts, and Capri Sun drinks are greatly appreciated.
Monetary and/or snack donations may be dropped off at the Teen Center or call 850- 892-3752.
Camp Rosemary
Camp Rosemary offers activities for children ages 5-12 through Aug. 12. Drop off camp programs are Monday-Friday and crafts are Monday-Saturday.
Guests of Rosemary Beach Cottage Rental Company may make advanced reservations by sending an email to camp@rosemarybeach.com. Be sure to book at least 24 hours in advance. Include the name on the reservation, your contact information and the names and ages of the children that plan to attend. Call 231-0260 or 596-0717.
• Camp Rosemary (drop off): 9 a.m. to noon with a variety of themes throughout the week. Each day includes arts and crafts, silly sport activities, crazy pool games, beach expeditions and more. Lunch is included.
• Camp R – Encore (drop off): 12 to 2 p.m. and is an extension of the morning fun with more activities planned. Child must attend morning program to stay for Encore.
• Crazy Crafts: 2 to 5 p.m. and includes fun and unique craft projects for all age groups. Come at any time during the session. Cost is $5-$20 per craft.
• Kids’ Night Out (drop off): 6 to 9 p.m. with activities, pool games and crafts. Dinner and an excursion are included.
• Teen Night: 6 to 9 p.m. get together with teens includes movies, activities and more.
South Walton Boys & Girls Club
Activities are for elementary school aged children, including those who just completed fifth grade, include programs such as Manners Matter, Drama Club, My History and more from 6:30-8:30 a.m. (Summer Sunrise Program) and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Summer Day Program) through Aug. 4. Registration fee is $25/child yearly. Deposit of $75/child due at sign up for weekly fees July 18-Aug. 4. Cost of Sunrise program is $10/week and $5/week additional child. Bring a lunch, water bottle and sunscreen. Call 622-0602.
Abrakadoodle
The following events are held at the Community Center on McGee Street in Alys Beach. Pre-registration required at 850-424-5058 or at www.abrakadoodle.com.
• Parents' Night Out: Bring the kids for art, games and a movie from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday nights through Aug. 12. Cost is $20/child. Bring a sack dinner and a drink.
• Art at Alys Summer Camps: Surf's up with arty, beachy fun for kids ages 4 and up from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 11. This camp is open to the public and kids will have a morning filled with outside play at Fonville Press, a snack, art projects, games and a movie. Dress for a mess! Credit card only.
