Walton County Tax Collector brings tax office to citizens
Walton County Tax Collector Rhonda Skipper is providing an opportunity for Walton County property owners to pay their taxes without making the trip to the Tax Collector’s Office, by taking the tax office to them. During November, the Walton County Tax Collector’s Office will be on location at various community sites to collect tax payments.
This onsite tax collection is known as the R.A.T.E. program or Remote Area Tax Express. The purpose of the program is to make paying taxes more convenient for residents living in an area of the county where a central tax office is not located.
A representative from the Tax Collector’s Office will be onsite to receive tax payments and answer questions related to taxes. Walton County property owners are asked to bring their tax bill with them to the onsite location.
The R.A.T.E. locations, open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., are as follows:
Nov. 10: Inlet Beach, Fire Station #1.
Nov. 12: Freeport, Community Center.
Nov. 13: Paxton, Town Hall
Nov. 16: Mossy Head, Fire Station
Nov. 17: Darlington, Two Cousins Restaurant
Nov. 18: Choctaw Beach, Fire Station
Nov. 19: Miramar Beach, Fire Station on Geronimo Street
Nov. 24: Red Bay, Community Center
Tax payments not paid by March 31st are considered delinquent and a penalty will be assessed on delinquent accounts.
