Mobile home destroyed in Thanksgiving Day fire

DeFUNIAK SPRINGS — Firefighters who responded to a call about a mobile-home fire late Thursday night were unable to save the structure, which al-ready was 75 percent consumed when they arrived.

Lt. Jerry Hall of the DeFuniak Springs Fire Department said there were no injuries, but the mobile home was a “complete loss.”

One person reportedly lived at the home.

Hall said his station received the call at 9:42 p.m. and fire trucks were at the home on Seminole Drive, located south of U.S. Highway 90 and east of U.S. Highway 331, several minutes later.

Six firefighters from DeFuniak Springs fought the blaze, he said. They were aided by firefighters from the Argyle Volunteer Fire Department and Walton County Fire Rescue.

The fire still is under investigation.
