Three from Fort Rucker injured in Walton County wreck

WALTON COUNTY — Three from Fort Rucker, Ala. were injured when the Toyota Corolla they were riding in struck a parked car along U.S. 331 just after noon on Sunday.

The car, driven by 23-year-old Junkai Lim, was traveling northbound when it went onto the east shoulder for an unknown reason. Lim applied the brakes and traveled for about 46 feet before striking the rear of the car, which was owned by Brett K. Furr of Freeport.

Furr was not in the car at the time.

The force of the impact caused Furr's car to roll forward about 27 feet.

Lim's car traveled about four feet past the point of impact.

Lim, who was wearing a seatbelt, had minor injuries and was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. His passengers were not wearing seatbelts, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

One of his passengers, 22-year-old Reeve Ingkiriwang, was seriously injured and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The other, 21-year-old Zhi Hao Chee, was critically injured and taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Charges are pending.
