Wood helps pitch West to win in Cape Cod All-Star Game
Austin Wood set the tone for the West All-Stars’ 5-0 victory over the East on Wednesday in the Cape Cod League All-Star Game at Fenway Park.
Wood, the former Niceville star who pitches for the Cotuit Kettleers, started the game for the West and pitched the first of nine scoreless innings while combining with eight other hurlers for the shutout. He allowed two hits but avoided being touched for a run.
Wood is currently 3-0 with a 0.58 ERA for the Kettleers. There were 10,470 fans at the game.
