Annual awards at Walton County Department of Corrections

On Jan. 23 the Walton County Department of Corrections hosted its annual Officer and Civilian Employee of the Year Awards presentation. The Department also recognizes each year, those employees who had used no sick leave in the past calendar year. In addition, the Department recognized one retirement.

For the year 2012, the recognitions were:

• Officer of the Year: Gregory Braddam - Employed since September 2007

• Civilian Employee of the Year: Deann Bertram – Employed since November 2011

• No Sick Leave Used Recognitions: Margaret Bishop – Employed since December 2011; Laura Bowden – Employed since March 2011; Christopher Brooks – Employed since December 2005; Claire Green – Employed since September 2011; and Efrem Paul – Employed since June 2006. (Not Present)

• Retirement: Sgt. James Courtney – Employed since June 2008 (Total of 29 years of service)
This ceremony marks the 11th year the department has recognized the Officer of the Year, fifth year recognizing the Civilian Employee of the Year and the third year recognizing employees that used no sick leave.
