After a busy summer of planning for our 50th year, the Seagrove Garden Club presents its calendar of programs and events for another year of fun and fellowship. This Golden Anniversary Year’s programs will focus on gardening in our local area. Highlights from the programs will feature everything from spectacular floral design to multiple gardening options with the special 50th Anniversary celebration at the Oct. 9 meeting.

The first meeting and luncheon will be held Sept. 11 at Grayton Bar & Grill, 170 E Scenic 30A in Grayton Beach. The speaker will be Florida State Master Designer Tim Ryan, owner of Botaniq Floral Studio. The program, “Easy as One, Two, Three,” easy floral designs we all can do, promises to be both entertaining and informative.

On Oct. 9, Beekeeper Jim Dietrich presents the program “What’s the Buzz” at Café Thirty A, 3899 E Scenic Hwy. 30A in Santa Rosa Beach. This will also be our special 50th Anniversary meeting.

A special event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Santa Rosa Beach. The Holiday Décor Extravaganza for fall and winter features the spectacular but simple floral arrangements of Tim Ryan with mimosas, special homemade treats from Tim’s new cookbook, and goody bags for all. Get your tickets early.

The club welcomes back Florida State Designer of the Year, Russ Barley, owner of Emerald Coast Flowers and Gifts, Nov. 13. The program is entitled “Holiday Pizzaz.” We are honored to present this standing-room only program. The event will take place at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course Club House at Wild Heron on U.S. 98 toward Panama City.

Our traditional holiday program and luncheon on Dec. 11 will be held at Point Washington Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 1290 N. Co. Hwy 395 in Santa Rosa Beach. The December program is a gift auction the club sponsors to raise money for families and charities that are in need during the holidays. Keen Polokoff will be the auctioneer.

On Jan. 8, the Wild Flower Association President, Darla Dobson, will present the program, “Blooming Wildflowers.” The meeting will be held at Carrabba’s, 10562 Emerald Coast Parkway W, in the Silver Sands Premium Outlets.
