Food for Thought Outreach, Inc. recently announced that Trustmark Bank, of Okaloosa and Walton Counties, raised and donated $2,115.86 to the organization. Trustmark Bank ran a fundraising campaign to support Food for Thought for the entire month of June. Lenny's Sub Shop and Wing Stop, both in Destin, helped and contributed to the bank’s efforts by offering discounts and free food coupons to anyone who donated at least $5 to the campaign. Eight branches in both counties participated and collected a total of $1,115.86. Trustmark Bank then matched donations up to $1,000. The branches also collected two bins of program appropriate food donations for the children served by the organization. The funds raised will fill the organization’s pantry for at least four weeks.
“We are so honored that Trust Mark would dedicate their efforts toward helping our organization,” said Tiffanie Shelton, founder of Food for Thought Outreach, Inc. “It makes me so happy to see a business and their team work together to help support the needs of their local community. The efforts of all the Trustmark employees are greatly appreciated and will make a real impact as we prepare for back to school.”
Food for Thought is now preparing for the new school year with their back to school food drive that will run through Sept. 6.
