Free tire pick up

Walton County residents north of the Choctawhatchee Bay can have old tires picked up for free by North Walton Mosquito Control during the months of November, December, January and February.

North Walton Mosquito Control will only handle the rubber portion of tires, not rims or tires generated by commercial entities.  Businesses should contact the county landfill to inquire about tire disposal.

Old tires hold water and breed several species of mosquitoes, some of which are linked to diseases. For pick-up call 892-8183.

Subway opens at Baytowne Wharf

Subway has brought their mouth-watering tastes to The Village of Baytowne Wharf at 117 Cannery Lane near the playground. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday with military and senior discount offers.

“It is truly gratifying to be part of something that encourages new businesses and promotes growth in The Village,” said Marianna Zuech, merchant manager of the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  “The Village is home to more than 1.8 million guests per year, and we want to make sure that we offer them a variety of choices that will contribute to their desire to keep coming back.”
