Blake Lance named to President’s List

Georgia Southern University recently named 1,162 students as 2014 Spring Semester President’s List honorees. Blake Lance from Santa Rosa Beach has earned a spot on the list for excellence in academics. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.

Clifton C. Williams graduates basic training

Air Force Airman Clifton C. Williams recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Williams, son of Judith L. and Clifton E. Williams of DeFuniak Springs, is a 2007 graduate of Walton Senior High School.

Troy University announces honor students

Devero Bogart of DeFuniak Springs, Megan Brunson of Santa Rosa Beach, Elizabeth Haney of Freeport and Kaydee Willcox of DeFuniak Springs have been recognized for making the Chancellor's List for the 2014 Spring Semester/Term 4. The Chancellor's list honors students who have earned a 4.0 Grade Point Average during that term.

Natalie Tindell of Santa Rosa Beach and McKenzie Wakefield of Freeport were recognized for making the Provost’s List, which honors students who have earned a 3.65 or higher grade point average during the previous academic period.
